PIA SEPTIEN

Holds a Master of Theological Studies and Certificate in Pastoral Administration from the University of Dallas and a BA in Business Administration from Universidad Anáhuac, Mexico City. She is a full time instructor at the University of Dallas NSOM. She was hired in 2006 to start the Continuing Education Programs in Spanish. Since then, she has dedicated herself to what is very dear to her heart: catechize those who speak to God in Spanish. Septien is a consultant for Catholic Extension and a speaker at the UD Ministry Conference. In addition, she is a regular guest at EWTN Hoy es tu gran dia, and Relevant Radio, parishes in the DFW area, and in several Dioceses. She writes for the Diocese of Dallas “La Revista Catolica,” and has written five books published by Liguori Publications— three of which have been translated into English.

   DEACON EDUARDO BARAJAS

Deacon Eduardo Barajas was born to José Barajas and Ma. Socorro Rivera in Leon, Mexico and grew up with seven older siblings. He attended college in Leon at La Salle University and graduated with a master’s degree in finance from University of Valle de Atemajac. He served as a youth missionary in Mexico from 1988 to 2000. He worked for Deloitte from 1996 to 1998 as an auditor, then moved on to work with Haggar Clothing for 10 years. He currently works for MD Medical Group as the Chief Financial Officer.

In 2005 he moved, with his wife Geny and his son Emmanuel, from Leon, Mexico to Dallas, Texas, where he had twins, Naomi and Santiago, in 2006. In 2008 he attended to CHRP(48). Since then, he has served in the ministries of Faith and Finance, Couples for Christ, That Man is You, and as a Lector and Acolyte. He served at Juvenile Detention Center from 2015 to 2017 and The Methodist Hospital in 2018. He entered the Permanent Diaconate program in 2013, was ordained in June 2018. He has served here at St. Ann ever since.

He also enjoys playing soccer, running, reading, daily mass, and spending time with his family.
