Fr. James Yamauchi is a priest of the Diocese of Dallas and pastor of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Waxahachie, Texas. Prior to his current assignment, he was pastor of St. Martin of Tours in Forney, Texas, and associate director of formation at Holy Trinity Seminary in Irving, Texas.  He is the host of the podcast That’s the Word with Fr. James Yamauchi.

 

Fr. James was raised in a military family and has lived in Texas, Florida, Mississippi, Germany, and Italy. Fr. James studied at Holy Trinity Seminary and at the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome, earning a degree in theology and a licentiate in canon law.  In the summer of 2008, Fr. James participated in Commissioned Officer Training with the military at Maxwell AFB in Alabama as a chaplain candidate. Fr. James was ordained a priest on July 16, 2011.  He serves as chaplain for the St. Thomas More Society, TOBET (Theology of the Body Evangelization Team), and the local Confraternity of the Holy Face.
